I'm Andree Patenaude (she/her), Relational Somatic Therapist and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (ACCT #3270), specializing in Relational Somatic Therapy.

My approach helps you to reconnect with yourself, unravel survival patterns, and access the wisdom that lives within your body.

This work is collaborative, experiential, and requires a commitment to curiosity over solutions.

Let's begin together.

"As someone who has experienced intense anxiety since I was a child, I’ve gone through numerous types of therapy.

Andree has helped me to connect and be in tune with how my body is feeling when I’m anxious.

Somatic therapy takes me out of my head and helps me to recognize how I’m feeling, where my body is holding the anxiety and to release it.

My brain and body are connecting and working through memories and experiences together."

What Is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapy is a body-centered approach to counselling for treating trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress.

Somatic therapy is based in the understanding that memory and experience are held in the body - not just the mind.

Through supportive conversation and awareness, we work with the 'felt sense' of your body and nervous system.

Somatic therapy helps you reconnect with yourself, create more space inside, & process trauma held in the body.

Relational Somatic Therapy also includes frameworks around attachment theory, parts work, & the inner child.

Though somatic work draws on the science of interpersonal neurobiology and sensorimotor psychotherapy, it also rests on the ancient teachings of mindfulness, relationship and embodiment.

Somatic work is supportive for:

  • Trauma (developmental, shock)

  • Anxiety, panic, hyper-vigilance

  • Anger management

  • Chronic tension and pain

  • Shutdown, dissociation, numbness

  • Personal growth & goals

  • Life transitions & identity shifts

What becomes possible over time:

  • Feel more present in your body

  • Respond without shutdown or panic

  • Release chronic tension

  • Build capacity for difficult emotions

  • Access your body's innate capacity for healing

"Andree is kind, patient, attentive, supportive, and explains things clearly for those who like to understand the method behind the techniques.

She guides and supports with just the right amount and allows me to learn how to trust in how I feel.
